Senior Java Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer for an expanding, dynamic company based in Telford.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing and developing web-applications using J2SE and J2EE technologies.

We are looking to recruit a senior Java developer to join a specialist supplier of software and services to the Membership sector.
Successful applicants will become a member of our existing multi-disciplinary technical team and be involved in multiple software development projects simultaneously. Projects will vary in scope, complexity and technologies used. Some projects will require significant research before deciding on a specific implementation and you would be expected to guide the decision making process.

Required Skills & Knowledge
Applicants must be able to demonstrate solid understanding and experience of most of the following

Specific
• Web application development using J2SE and J2EE technologies.
• HTML, JavaScript & CSS.
• Object oriented design and patterns.
• Web server and web application container principles.
• Internet protocols and data transfer/format/encoding.
• SQL relational database design and query construction.

General
• Be good at solving problems methodically.
• Ability to adopt new programming languages and technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills.
• Able to work as part of a team as well as individually.
• Highly motivated and able to manage their own time.
• Confident with varying workload and changing tasks across projects.

Beneficial Experience
General knowledge or experience with the following would be beneficial.
• Tomcat web application container.
• REST/SOAP.
• Interfacing with UniData systems via Redback/WebDE or UniObjects.

Salary: Depends on experience, ranging from £25,000 to £35,000 per annum + bonus
