Mould Tool Maintenance Toolmaker - 12 month fixed term contract opportunity

37 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 8:15am – 5:00pm and Friday 8:15am to 12:15pm

We are looking for a Mould Tool Maintenance Toolmaker to join a Moulding Engineering department at a site based in Telford, Shropshire. The successful candidate will join at an exciting time and become part of a highly experienced and well established team.

The role will predominately focus on the maintenance and repair of injection, injection stretch blow moulds and extrusion blow mould tools to ensure that the business operations are maximised at all times.

What will you be doing?

Repairing, modifying and maintaining all existing production tooling

Operating all toolroom plant and machinery safely

To continually review working methods and make suggestions or improvements to tooling or processes

Log any completed tool maintenance and repair work using the systems and databases

Ensure correct marking and labelling of tools

Advise on design and manufacture of any new mould tooling

React to break-downs and quality issues using diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems quickly and effectively

To support continuous improvements in manufacturing processes, design and development of equipment, contributing to relevant activities

You will ideally have plastic injection mould tool experience in a similar role.

You’ll ideally be qualified to HNC/ONC in Mechanical Engineering or be an apprentice trained toolmaker with 5 years proven.

Industry experience within plastics/injection moulding is essential. However, CNC, CAD/CAM experience is desirable but not essential.

Experience with hot runner systems/valve gates and manifolds would be advantageous.

Salary: £31,938.00-£35,132.00 per year
